About the Role

You will design, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans for individuals with various needs. This involves conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, providing direct therapy, and collaborating with other professionals. BCBAs also play a crucial role in training and supervising staff, ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines, and staying up to date on the latest research in behavior analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Evaluation:
Conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to understand the function of challenging behaviors, including interviews, observations, and data collection.
Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) Development:
Developing and implementing evidence-based BIPs based on FBA findings, focusing on skill acquisition and behavior reduction.

Supervision and Training:
Supervising and training Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs), and other staff members on behavior analysis principles and techniques.

Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborating with families, educators, other professionals, and stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive approach to client support.

Data Collection and Analysis:
Collecting and analyzing data on client progress to inform decision-making and ensure intervention effectiveness.

Professional Development and Ethics:
Staying up to date on research and best practices in behavior analysis, adhering to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board's (BACB) Code of Ethics, and maintaining professional competence.

Possible Work Settings:
Schools: Supporting students with IEPs, developing positive behavior support plans, and providing consultation to teachers and staff.

Community Settings: Providing ABA services in individuals' homes, schools, or other natural environments.

Remote Settings: Providing ABA services virtually, including assessments, evaluations, and treatment planning.

Supervision of Behavior Technicians: BCBAs often supervise the work of RBTs, who provide direct ABA therapy under the BCBA's supervision. BCBAs are responsible for ensuring that RBTs are trained and competent in implementing behavior interventions and that interventions are evidence-based and aligned with the BIP.

Requirements

Must have current and active credentials as a BCBA.
